Dissolution of Fleet & Church Crookham Community First Responder Scheme
28th July 2025
Please be aware that as of today, we have dissolved the scheme. Due to changes in the way the ambulance service operate, we were unable to continue in our current form.
Our volunteers are continuing to respond to emergencies in the community under a new entity - Hart Valley CFR scheme - resulting from an amalgamation of the previous Fleet & Church Crookham and Yateley CFR schemes. The new scheme is still overseen by South East Coast Ambulance Service, and dispatched from the emergency operations centre in Crawley. We are pleased to say that all of our volunteers continue to remain operational, and the transition has resulted in no loss of service to the community.
We have formed a new organisation - North East Hampshire Community Defibrillator Scheme - to continue our work in the community managing the public access defibrillators, providing CPR training, and working to improve the outcomes of people in Fleet & Church Crookham. By agreement, all of the assetts, equipment, and finances held by F&CCCFRs have been transferred to NEHCDS in order to continue to benefit those in the Fleet area.
NEHCDS is run by former CFR team leader and SECAmb paramedic Richard Taylor - who can be contacted on defib@nehcds.org
As well as thanking all of the individuals and organisations who have donated to our cause over the years, we'd also think to thank the team of Fleet Fire Station 04, and Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service, who have permitted us to use the fire station for meetings and training over many years.
On behalf of all of us, we'd like to thank the community of the Fleet area for all of their support since the teams inception in 2004. Thank you for your trust, and inviting us into your lives over the years.
